  • Tamil Nadu
  • Administrations of villages in coimbatore made online for the application of information technology to basic levels.
  • The coimbatore corporation takes steps for implementing centralised waste management.
  • New assesment and evalutaion pattern to be implemented by Anna University, Coimbatore.
  • The fasting protests of medical students came to a temporary end after CM Karunanidhi promised that he would write letters to the PM and Health minister regarding their issue.
  • Tamil Nadu Government has started its own cable corporation and it would be hosted from Pongal. The feed will be provided in digital mode.

India

  • Pension scheme launched by Government of India. Senior citizens aged above 65 and below poverty line will be benifited by this scheme.
  • Karnataka CM Yedyurappa quits from his post as Janata Dal leader H.D. Deve Gowda directed his MLA's to vote against the government.
  • Sonia Gandhi once again defends the nuclear strategic programme while adressing in the All India Congress Comittee session.
  • Gujarat Polls likely to be held on Decemeber 11 and 16.
  • 8 states including Andhra, Karnataka, West Bengal, UP, MP, Maharastra, West Bengal found to be having very low literacy rates, says Minister of state for human resources.

Sports

  • India won the ODI series against Pakistan.(3-2)
  • Australia won the Warne-Muralitharan trophy, beating Srilanka. It was Australia's 14th consecutive test victory.
  • Roger Federer won the Master's Cup for the fourth time, defeating David Ferrer in the final.
